Heritage Foundation scholars and former public health officials assessed the risks posed by the Ebola virus and the response options available to the U.S. and West Africa countries most affected. While answering an audience member’s question on New York and New Jersey’s mandatory quarantine of health workers who had treated Ebola patients overseas, Dr. Tara O’Toole said the policy was a mistake. She added that quarantine someone with no symptoms of Ebola was “a big deal.” close
