Panelists talked about Congress and the 1989 National Museum of the American Indian Act. The law established the National Museum of the American Indian on the National Mall as a part of the Smithsonian Institution, and encouraged the Smithsonian to return any Native American human remains and funerary objects to federally recognized Indian tribes.
