Doris Meissner talked about the impact of President Obama’s executive action on immigration policy. Topics included the number of people affected by the policy, and how successful it might be. She also discussed actions the president was taking that were not included in his national address. When asked about border security, Ms. Meissner said that the border “is very secure” and that, “There is a big disconnect between public understanding and what has actually taken place over the past 20 years.” She added that “so many resources have been poured in that we’re at historically low levels” of illegal border crossings. close
