Laura Ackley talks about the 1915 World’s Fair, officially known as the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, held in San Francisco, California. The fair was a celebration of the Panama Canal’s 1914 completion, and was also seen as a way for San Francisco to showcase its recovery from the 1906 earthquake. Ms. Ackley is the author of San Francisco’s Jewel City: The Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915. close
