The ceremony was called “The DC Celebration of the Journey of Mayor for Life.” Some of the many speakers included Nation of Islam leader Minister Louis Farrakhan, D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray, Marion Barry’s son Christopher, his widow Cora, and the Reverend Jesse Jackson, who delivered the eulogy.
