The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held a hearing on the state of the implementation of a new law, the Supporters of the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act. The law is intended to enhance the ability of Congress, agencies, and the public to track and analyze federal spending on a common Web site, and to help eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse. Appearing before the committee were the sponsors of the law, Senators Mark Warner and Rob Portman in the first panel, and in the second panel officials from the Government Accountability Office, the Treasury Department, and the White House Office of Management and Budget. close
