John Norberg talked about the role Purdue University has played in the history of flight and aeronautical engineering in the United States. Mr. Norberg spoke about major aviation events in the country and traced them back to Purdue. The Purdue University School of Aeronautics and Astronautics was formally established in 1945. Purdue and M.I.T. have graduated more astronauts than any other non-military university in the country.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Lafayette and West Lafayette, Indiana, from November 16-20 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2. close
