In what was probably his last briefing with the press as Defense secretary he thanked people for their service. In his remarks Secretary Hagel stressed the need for long-term budget certainty and no more sequestration* of funds. Other topics included the combating ISIL*, training Iraqi Security Forces and the Syrian opposition, and closing the prison at Guantanamo.
