Park Ranger Jim Bailey talked about the history and importance of the Treaty of Ghent. He discussed the origins of the war of 1812 and how the British and Americans responded to the treaty. This event was hosted by the Octagon Museum, which occupies the same house and temporary executive mansion in which President Madison signed the treaty in February of 1815. close
