House members debated temporary homeland security spending, through March 19, 2015. Republicans said it gave Congress three weeks to work out a compromise spending bill with the Senate. Democrats were opposed to the current bill because it included provisions blocking the President executive actions on immigration. During the House debate, the Senate passed a “clean” homeland security spending bill without the immigration provisions. close
