After a closed-door meeting of Senate Democrats, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) announced that Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) had agreed to take up a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill that did not contain language to block President Obama’s executive actions on immigration. The Senate four times previously had tried and failed to end debate on a bill that would have both funded DHS and blocked the president’s executive action. close
