The 2014 Guggenheim-Lehrman Prize in Military History, worth $50,000, was awarded on March 23, 2015, in New York City. Finalists for the prize read selections from their books prior to the award winner being announced. David Reynolds provided taped remarks as he was unable to attend the event.

The finalists were: Julia Lovell, author of The Opium War: Drugs, Dreams, and the Making of Modern China; David Reynolds, author of The Long Shadow: The Legacies of the Great War in the Twentieth Century; and Alexander Watson, author of Ring of Steel: Germany and Austria-Hungary in World War I.
