Professor Gregory Smoak talked about the Indian Claims Commission, a judicial panel created in 1946 for relations between the U.S. government and Native American tribes. It was established under the Indian Claims Act in 1946 by the United States Congress to hear claims of Indian tribes against the United States, and was meant to resolve many longstanding claims. The class is from a course called “American Indian History Since 1850.” close
