Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to questions from an audience and those submitted by text, electronic mail, telephone, and live video during his 13th annual question and answer session in Moscow. More than two million questions were submitted during the four-hour-long program. During this 85-minute portion of the event, President Putin addressed relations with Ukraine and the West, calling France’s decision to withhold delivery of two Mistral-class amphibious assault ships to Russia a “bad sign.” He also spoke about the Iran nuclear agreement and Russia’s decision to supply Iran with surface-to-air missiles, saying U.N. sanctions against Iran did not include military equipment and that it was a “goodwill decision.” President Putin also commented on Russian domestic issues such as the economy, education, and the killing of Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov.
