News headlines were read and telephone lines were open for viewer comments on the question: “What is your message to the Senate on National Security Agency (NSA) surveillance?” The telephone lines were divided between those wishing to end and renew the program. The question was inspired by the rare Sunday session of the U.S. Senate the next day to vote on the USA Freedom Act, which would reauthorize some expiring Patriot Act provisions. Steven Nelson also reported by telephone on the NSA surveillance program. close
