Rosemary Lane and Isabelle Karle, veterans of the Manhattan Project, spoke about their different experiences with the project and the various opportunities it provided for them and other women in the 1940s. Ms. Lane spoke about her time as nurse in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and the various happenings at Oak Ridge that affected her life. Ms. Karle spoke about her experience as a chemist for the metallurgy laboratory at the University of Chicago, working on the element plutonium. Denise Kiernan, author of The Girls of Atomic City, moderated.
