Ken Backman talked about the Gerald R. Ford Birth Site and Gardens in Omaha, Nebraska. The memorial site commemorates the birth site of Leslie King, Jr., who later became Gerald R. Ford, Jr., and was eventually sworn in as the 38th U.S. president in 1974.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2015 LCV Cities Tour” in Omaha, Nebraska, from May 7-13 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Cox Communications local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2. close
