Panelists talked about the U.S. patent system and its impact on innovation and the economy. They focused on ways the government can both reward innovators and protect the patent system from patent infringement and abuse. Topics included patent reform legislation, patent litigation issues and intellectual property concerns. Michelle Lee, undersecretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), gave the opening address. close
