Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) used their leadership time to talk about Planned Parenthood. Senator McConnell said that senators would have a chance to vote to defund Planned Parenthood the following week, and that the legislation would ensure taxpayer dollars for women’s health and not a “scandal-plagued political lobbying giant.” Senator Reid defended Planned Parenthood and called the latest attempt to de-fund the organization another Republican “attack on women’s health.” close
