Melissa Brown talks about President Grover Cleveland’s rise in politics in Buffalo, New York. During his time there, Grover Cleveland was the Sheriff of Erie County and later became Mayor of Buffalo in 1882. In 1883, he was elected Governor of New York and subsequently became the 22nd and 24th President of the United States.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2015 LCV Cities Tour” in Buffalo, New York, from August 8-14 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Time Warner Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
