Ali Noorani and Mark Krikorian talked about the issue of immigration in the 2016 presidential election, and what to expect on immigration policy when Congress returns from recess. An NBC News video clip was shown of former Governor Jeb Bush (R-FL), a candidate for the Republican 2016 presidential nomination, speaking about birth-right citizenship August 20, 2015. Other topics included e-verify, a border wall, visas, skilled and unskilled immigration, and the effect of the rhetoric on the immigration plans of candidates. They responded to telephone calls and electronic communications, including a telephone line reserved for illegal immigrants.

The program concluded with a video clip of National Education Association President Lily Eskelsen Garcia being interviewed August 20, 2015, for “Newsmakers.” close
