President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s grandchildren gathered for a family discussion at Gettysburg College about his military and political career as well as his legacy and relevance for 21st century Americans. President Eisenhower first lived in Gettysburg as a young Army officer in 1918 and retired to a farm there after leaving the White House. He also served as a Gettysburg College trustee. C-SPAN political editor Steve Scully moderated the panel, which included Susan Eisenhower, Anne Eisenhower, and Mary Eisenhower.

The town hall, “Eisenhower Leadership Then and Now,” was part of the celebration of President Eisenhower’s 125th birthday, held in the College Union Ballroom of Gettysburg College. close
