Pope Francis delivered remarks on immigration and religious freedom at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. He emphasized the importance of religious freedom, urging followers of the various religions to join their voices in calling for peace, tolerance, and respect for the dignity and rights of others. In addition, Pope Francis said that America’s immigrant community should not to be discouraged by hardships and should be responsible citizens.

His arrival and departure were shown. There was a brief interlude while Pope Francis was given a tour of Independence Hall. He spoke outside on the mall, using the lectern from which President Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address.
