Representative Bill Flores (R-TX), chair of the Republican Study Committee, talked about disagreements among Republicans over a strategy to prevent a government shutdown at the end of September 2015, and over House leadership. He talked about what it was like earlier in the day in the Republican Conference when House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) announced that he would resign from Congress as of October 30, 2015. The previous day the Senate rejected the House’s short-term continuing resolution (CR) that would have stripped funding for Planned Parenthood. After the interview the reporters discussed his responses with the host. close
