Former President Jimmy Carter spoke at a luncheon awards ceremony to honor the recipients of the foundation’s Carter-Menil Human Rights Prize. The Haitian Refugees Center of Miami and the Native American Rights Fund of Boulder, Colorado, received the 1992 awards, following an address by the former president on the current state of human rights around the world. Following his remarks, Fmr. President Carter and Ms. Menil received honorary Indian blankets, which they donned to audience applause. close
