Mark Hull gave an illustrated talk about the subsequent Nuremberg trials, focusing on the Einsatzgruppen trial. Beginning in September 1947, this eight-month proceeding tried 24 commanders of Nazi Schutzstaffel (SS) mobile killing units. They were charged and convicted for murdering more than 1 million Jews and tens of thousands of others including partisan fighters, physically and mentally disabled persons, and Romani. This event marked the 70th anniversary of International War Crimes Trials that began in Nuremberg, Germany, on November 20, 1945. close
