Presidential Candidate Jeb Bush Remarks on Military Readiness Former Governor Jeb Bush (R-FL), a candidate for the Republican 2016 presidential nomination, talked about military readiness in an address to cadets at the Military College of South Carolina. He detailed plans for improved aircraft, ships, and missiles and restoring PATRIOT Act metadata programs. In the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks, he called for new leadership, ground troops, and an “overwhelming force” led by the U.S. to defeat ISIL*.
