Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced a Justice Department investigation into the Chicago Police Department’s practices following the shooting death of Laquan McDonald by one of the department’s officers. The investigation, conducted by the Civil Rights Division, would look into issues related to the department’s use of force and its handling of allegations of misconduct.
