The committee heard testimony on petitions brought to the committee by Oregon citizens calling for the committee to void the election victory of Senator Bob Packwood the previous September. The petitions claim Senator Packwood committed election fraud by denying during the campaign allegations of sexual harassment and the fact an investigation had begun on the charges, thus depriving voters of essential election information. close
