The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral argument in G.G. v. Gloucester County, VA School Board. This case concerns how schools across the country deal with transgender students and which bathrooms they are allowed to use. Sixteen-year old Gavin Grimm was born female but identifies as male and was allowed to use the boys' restroom at Gloucester High School until parents complained. This prompted the county school board to adopt a policy requiring students to either use the restroom that corresponds to their biological gender or a private, single-stall restroom. close
