Neal Graffy and Michael Redmon talked about the American Film Manufacturing Company, also known as Flying “A” Studios, a studio that produced silent films in Santa Barbara, California from 1912-1921. The studio produced nearly 1,000 films while in Santa Barbara. Mr. Graffy spoke about the studio and the impact it had on the area.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2015 LCV Cities Tour” in Santa Barbara, California, from January 9-15, 2016, to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Cox Communications local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
