Foreign Minister Silajdzic spoke to a luncheon audience on the current situation in the former Yugoslavia, where a civil war between Serbs, Muslims and Croats has been raging since 1992. He discussed the apparent failure of the Vance-Owen peace plan signed the previous weekend, and urged military intervention by the U.N. or the U.S. to end the aggression against the Bosnians by the Serbs. Following his prepared remarks, he responded to questions from members of the audience. close
