Authors talked about their books chronicling the history of Mexican American civil rights from the 1930s to the 1970s. Book topics included a pioneer for education rights, the fight for better conditions for farm workers in California’s Salinas Valley, the multiracial democratic coalition in Texas that helped elect President Kennedy, the National Farm Workers Association led by Cesar Chavez, and the testimonies of three activists from the Chicano Movement.
