Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton delivered remarks on counterterrorism. She spoke a day after a major terrorist attack in Brussels, Belgium. She said the U.S. must “rely on what actually works, not bluster that alienates our partners and doesn’t make us any safer.” Referring to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s comments regarding NATO, Ms. Clinton said “If Mr. Trump gets his way, it’ll be like Christmas in the Kremlin. It will make America less safe and the world more dangerous.” Ms. Clinton also suggested working with Silicon Valley “to more effectively track and analyze ISIS’s social media posts and map jihadist networks online.” She also addressed Mr. Trump’s proposal to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, saying “How high does the wall have to be to keep the internet out?” Former U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul provided introductory remarks. close
