Representatives Alan Grayson (D-FL) and David Jolly (R-FL) participated in a debate for incumbent Senator Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) Senate seat. Senator Rubio said he would not be seeking re-election in 2016. The format was an “open debate,” in which people submitted and voted on questions in advance, with moderators choosing from among the top submissions. Some of the questions were asked by the authors, in person or by video. The topics included the role of money in politics, raising the minimum wage, women’s reproductive rights, and President Obama’s U.S. Supreme Court nominee.

The debate, held in the WUCF-TV PBS studio at the University of Central Florida, was co-hosted by “The Young Turks” from YouTube, Independent Journal Review, Progressive Change Institute, and Americans for Tax Reform. close
