The House debated a bill to combat opioid addiction. The legislation would set up grant programs for addiction prevention and recovery, treatment for pregnant women and babies born addicted to opioids, expand the availability of overdose-reversal drugs and set up a task force to recommend guidelines for doctors who prescribe opioids.
The House had been debating opioid legislation all week. The Senate passed its version of the bill in March. And the House voted today to go to conference with the Senate. close
