Topics included the replacement for a recently killed Taliban leader in Afghanistan, the Iraqi military’s efforts to retake Fallujah from ISIL*, and the future of U.S. involvement in the region. He responded to telephone calls and electronic communications, including a telephone line reserved for active and retired military.
