Representative Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY) offered an amendment to the 2017 the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies Appropriations Act. The amendment was intended to reverse text that was added to the National Defense Authorization (NDA) bill the previous day which would overturn President Obama’s executive order to prevent discrimination by federal contractors. Representative Maloney called the provision discriminated against “LGBT Americans.” close
