Rob McCoy and Mark Hall Patton talked about the era of Las Vegas history commonly referred to as “Classic Vegas.” The era spanned from the 1940s to the 1970s and is often seen as the golden age of the city. This segment included a visit to the Neon Museum in Las Vegas, which displays some of the classic neon signs that once dominated the “Las Vegas Strip.”

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2016 LCV Cities Tour” in Las Vegas, Nevada, from May 7-13 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Cox Communication cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
