Mike DeBonis talked about analyses of 2016 competitive Senate races, how the presidential candidacies of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton could affect other races, the issues in races, campaign advertising, and strategies for voter outreach. He responded to telephone calls and electronic communications, including a telephone line reserved for third party supporters. Senatorial campaign ads were shown: a Catherine Cortez Masto ad trying to link Representative Joe Heck (R-NV) to Donald Trump; a Senate Leadership Fund ad against former Senator Evan Bayh (D-IN); Jason Kander’s “Background Check” ad in his race against Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO); a Senate Leadership Fund ad about Representative Patrick Murphy’s (D-FL) vote on the Iran nuclear deal; a Senate Majority PAC ad criticizing Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) on Social Security; and Senator Michael Bennet (R-CO)'s “Sunshine” ad. close
