George Washington University Sociology Professor Etzioni, founder of the Communitarian movement, discussed his book The Politics of Virtue and his other writings in a speech to a luncheon audience. His writings focus on the concept of tying together one’s private rights and one’s public responsibilities, the rights someone has to create themselves and gain wealth and the debt they incur against their community.
