At the beginning of the daily White House briefing, Energy Secretary Rick Perry talked about the Trump administration’s energy goals, telling reporter his department was committed to making use of a “diverse portfolio” of energy options, including nuclear power. Other topics included climate change, which he said he believes it is happening and that people have had an impact on but that further discussion was needed to determine the extent of and what to do about it.

Afterward, Sarah Huckabee Sanders answered questions on several issues that included the stalled Senate Republican Affordable Care Act replacement bill, a White House statement and warning to Syria about further use of chemical weapons, and a retracted CNN story on alleged ties between Russia and a Trump administration aide that resulted in the resignations of three CNN journalists. close
