Vice President Gore spoke via conference telephone call to several governors in the Midwest states affected by flooding of the Mississippi River. The Vice President talked to the governors about relief efforts for the victims of the flooding. Representatives of the Federal Emergency Management Agency sat nearby the vice president during the phone call. He briefly responded to questions from reporters following the phone call. close
