Kristen Clark-Taylor, the first African-American woman on the White House staff, discussed her book The First to Speak in a speech to an audience at the Freedom Forum. Introduced by her former boss at USA Today and former White House press secretary Marlin Fitzwater, Ms. Clark-Taylor spoke on her experiences in the White House in her new book and later responded to questions from members of the audience. The introductions included a videotape from former President George H. W. Bush on the beach in Kennebunkport, ME. close
