Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chair Mark Warner (D-VA), and Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), a member of that committee, took part in an Atlantic Council discussion about Russia’s interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Both senators offered critical commentary on President Trump’s meeting that day with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, particularly on President Trump’s refusal to support the American intelligence community’s assessment of Russia’s involvement in the election. They also talked about ways the U.S. can combat meddling in future elections. close
