Secretary Mike Espy, Ambassador Mickey Kantor, and agricultural leaders spoke in a news briefing on the effect of the North American Free Trade Agreement on U.S. agriculture policy and the U.S. agricultural industry. The briefing accompanied the creation of a group supporting the passage of the North American Free Trade Agreement called, “Ag for NAFTA.” The speakers praised NAFTA for its beneficial effects on American agriculture, including increased trade. The speakers responded to questions from members of the audience following their prepared remarks. close
