Representatives of several civil rights and special interest organizations spoke in a news conference and discussed the plans for the 30th-anniversary March on Washington, DC. The March on August 28 will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the march on Washington headed by civil rights leader Martin Luther King, whose speech at the rally, known as the “I have a dream” speech, has been renowned as a work of rhetoric. The upcoming march will include the support of several organizations including, civil rights organizations, labor organizations, and equal opportunity groups. close
