Kathleen DeLaski briefed reporters on the details of the president’s decision to send five hundred more troops to Somalia in the wake of the helicopter crash that killed twelve servicemen. Up to seven U.S. servicemen may be held by General Hussein Aidid’s forces following the incident. In addition to the troops, several tanks and helicopters will be sent to the region. close
