Justice Department officials briefed the press on the final report on the investigation of the siege of the Branch Davidian cult in Waco, Texas. Philip Heyman, Deputy Attorney General, Edward Dennis, JR, Former Assistant Attorney General, Phillip Heyman, Deputy Attorney General, Ronald Noble, Assistant Treasury Secretary, and Janet Reno, Attorney General. The FBI stormed the compound on April 19 and pumped tear gas into the main building, but the investigation and autopsies of some 85 victims showed that the cult members had set the fatal fire themselves and also shot or stabbed many of the victims. Their leader David Koresh died in the fire. close
