Mr. Kantor, Mr. Tyson, Mr. Babbitt and Ms. Browner testified on the long-term benefits of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). There were a number of heated exchanges concerning the environmental merits of the agreement. Representatives of the environmental groups, Ms. Dudley , Mr. Pope , and Mr. Schlickeisen opposed NAFTA because of environmental concerns. Mr. Hair was the only environmental representative on the second panel who supported NAFTA. close
